Supreme Investigations PLLC is a state-licensed Illinois private detective agency serving families, immigration attorneys, and community organizations navigating ICE detention. We provide detainee locates, personal property delivery to the Broadview Processing Center, legal document delivery with chain-of-custody documentation, attorney liaison coordination, and facility transfer tracking — available seven days a week, in English and Spanish. When advocacy organizations are not immediately available, a licensed investigator on the ground in Chicago can bridge the gap.
Licensed by the State of Illinois: Supreme Investigations holds IDFPR licenses under 225 ILCS 447 — Agency #117.001922, Detective #115.002750. All engagements are documented and handled confidentially.
What Happens After an ICE Detention in Illinois
Illinois law prohibits ICE from operating detention facilities within the state. When someone is detained in the Chicago area, they are typically processed at the Broadview Processing Center and then transferred — often within hours — to facilities in Indiana, Wisconsin, or further out of state. Acting quickly before a transfer occurs is critical.
The ICE Online Detainee Locator (locator.ice.gov) may not show a recent detention for 24 to 48 hours. It also does not cover minors, certain visa holders, or individuals already transferred. If the person does not appear in the system, that does not mean they have been released.
The Broadview Processing Center (340 N. Mannheim Rd, Broadview, IL) is where most Chicago-area detainees are held immediately after arrest. Property delivery, attorney visits, and welfare checks must happen here — before a transfer occurs. Once transferred out of state, in-person access becomes significantly more difficult.
Immigration proceedings — including bond hearings — can be scheduled quickly after detention. Legal counsel needs to be in contact with the detainee before those proceedings begin. A licensed investigator can locate the detainee, deliver correspondence, and confirm hearing information when attorneys cannot get there in time.
Steps to Take If a Family Member Is Detained
Go to locator.ice.gov and search by full legal name and country of birth. If found, write down the facility name and detainee ID number. If not found, do not stop — the system can lag 24–48 hours. Call ERO Chicago directly at (312) 347-2400.
Time is the most important factor. An attorney can file for a bond hearing and review the basis for detention. If you do not have one, contact the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) at (312) 660-1370 or visit illinoislegalaid.org.
Collect: full legal name, date of birth, country of birth, any immigration documents (A-number, visa, work permit), and the circumstances of the detention. This is needed for the locator, for attorneys, and for any investigative work.
At Broadview, families may deliver a limited bag of personal items — clothing, hygiene items, and in some cases medication with documentation. If you are out of state, an investigator can accept and deliver property on your behalf with written confirmation.
Transfers to out-of-state facilities happen fast and are not always communicated to families. Check the ICE locator daily. If the facility changes, contact the new facility to confirm visitation rules, property policies, and attorney access.
Advocacy organizations can be overwhelmed or unreachable nights and weekends. A licensed investigator is available seven days a week for field tasks: locating the detainee, delivering property, confirming facility information, and maintaining contact with the family until legal counsel is engaged.
How a Licensed Investigator Can Help
- Detainee Locate — When the ICE system is delayed or incomplete, we pursue ERO field office coordination, direct facility contact, and investigative database searches to confirm location. A written locate report is provided.
- Property Delivery — Broadview — We deliver personal property to the Broadview Processing Center following intake protocols. Families out of state can coordinate remotely — we accept, deliver, and send written confirmation directly to you.
- Legal Document Delivery — We deliver legal correspondence and immigration documents to detainees through approved facility channels — with chain-of-custody documentation for the attorney's file.
- Attorney Liaison — We act as field liaison between immigration counsel and the facility, coordinating access, confirming hearing dates, relaying time-sensitive communications, and documenting all contact.
- Facility Transfer Tracking — We monitor and confirm transfers to out-of-state facilities, updating families and attorneys in writing as transfers occur so you always have a current location.
- Welfare Check — We conduct field welfare checks to confirm the status and general condition of a detained individual through facility contact or attorney coordination. A written status report is provided.
- Background Documentation — We prepare investigative background reports for immigration attorneys, documenting address history, employment history, family ties, and community presence for use in bond hearings and removal proceedings.
- Same-Day Response, Seven Days a Week — We are available nights and weekends, because ICE detention does not follow business hours — and neither do we. There is no waitlist.
For Families Calling From Out of State
If the ICE locator is not showing your family member yet, we pursue alternative channels — ERO field office coordination, direct facility contact, and investigative databases — and provide the confirmed location to you and your attorney in writing.
If you cannot travel to Illinois, we coordinate property delivery to Broadview on your behalf. You ship items to us per facility guidelines, and we handle the delivery in person — with written confirmation sent directly to you.
When counsel needs documents delivered to a detainee before a hearing, we handle delivery with chain-of-custody documentation — a record of what was delivered, when, and to whom, ready for the attorney's file.
We monitor and confirm facility transfers, updating families and attorneys in writing. If your family member is moved to Indiana or Wisconsin, we confirm the new location and access policies so you are not starting over.
We stay in regular contact with families throughout every engagement by phone, email, or text, so you always know what has happened, what was confirmed, and what comes next. You will never be left waiting for a callback.
We are available seven days a week, including evenings and weekends. If you call on a Saturday night because your family member was detained that afternoon, we can respond and begin immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you locate someone detained by ICE in Illinois?
Yes. We conduct field-verified detainee locates using the ICE Online Detainee Locator System, ERO field office coordination, and direct facility contact. Because Illinois prohibits in-state ICE detention, many Illinois detainees are transferred to facilities in Indiana, Wisconsin, or further out of state — we track those transfers and confirm the new location in writing.
Can you deliver property to someone at the Broadview Processing Center?
Yes. We coordinate personal property delivery to the Broadview Processing Center following facility intake protocols and provide a written delivery confirmation memo. If you are calling from out of state, we can accept property coordination remotely. Permitted items vary by facility — we confirm what is accepted before delivery.
Do you work with immigration attorneys?
Yes. We serve as field support for immigration counsel — delivering legal correspondence, coordinating detainee contact, tracking facility transfers, and providing chain-of-custody documentation. Attorney engagements are scoped in writing and handled confidentially.
Is this service available in Spanish?
Yes. Robin Valenzuela is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. All client communications, family consultations, field coordination, and written reports can be conducted and delivered in Spanish.
How quickly can you respond?
Same-day response is available seven days a week for urgent locates, property delivery, and attorney coordination. Call directly for time-sensitive matters — immediate situations are handled by phone, not form submission.
What if advocacy organizations are not available or have a waitlist?
Advocacy organizations are an essential resource — but they can be overwhelmed, especially during periods of increased enforcement. A licensed investigator can step in immediately for field tasks that do not require an attorney: locating the detainee, delivering property, confirming facility information, and maintaining communication with the family. We are available nights and weekends and do not have a waitlist.
What if my family member has already been transferred out of Illinois?
We track out-of-state transfers and confirm new facility locations. For field services at out-of-state facilities, we coordinate with appropriately licensed investigators in the relevant jurisdiction. All documentation and family communication remain with us as the primary point of contact.
